As the Nikon Coolpix S10 has a tilting lens, it follows that the LCD screen can also tilt. The camera consists of two halves when tilting. The Nikon S10 has a large format 2.5 inch screen. It is hard to remember the days when 1.5 and 1.8 inches at the most were the standard size in a digital camera. The Nikon Coolpix S10’s LCD screen has an extra large viewing angle of 170° and the combination of tilting lens and extra large viewing angle means you can take photos from practically every angle with the Coolpix camera. It is also handy for showing saved pictures; whether you want to look at the pictures straight on, from the left, right, above or beneath, they remain clearly visible.
Nikon Coolpix S10 - Lens hood
The Nikon S10’s 10x optical zoom lens can be protected by a lens hood that is supplied separately. The lens hood can be opened and shut while attached to the camera. You can also remove the lens hood by opening it 60° and pulling slightly, upon which it will come loose. It is a handy solution and better than having a separate lens hood dangling from a cord. The Nikkor lens with a fixed brightness over the entire focal range of f/3.5 has a minimum focal range of 30 centimetres in the normal setting or 4 centimetres in the wide-angle setting whenever the Nikon Coolpix S10 is activated in the macro setting. The lens zooms in 19 stages from wide-angle to tele and afterwards goes into digital zoom.
Nikon Coolpix S10 - PictBridge
This standard has conquered the digital world in record speed. With good reason, because anything that removes superfluous obstacles to making a print can only be applauded. Practically every printer on the market supports PictBridge, as do digital (SLR) cameras. The Nikon S10 is no exception; if, after taking a photo, you connect the camera to a printer via the USB cable and turn on both, the PictBridge starting up screen appears on the screen of the camera. It is now possible to print the photos one for one, a collection at the same time or more copies of one. It is also possible to set the paper format in a format that is supported by the printer being used. In addition to PictBridge it is, of course, possible via a computer, by placing the memory card in the printer’s card slot or via a DPOF command.

Editor's conclusion:
"The new Nikon Coolpix S10 is the successor to the Nikon S4 camera. The concept has remained the same; the tilting lens is and continues to be an ideal feature of the camera. You can take a picture from practically every angle and this gives users enormous scope to make creative photographs. The 10x optical zoom lens has a large range of 38 - 380mm with which you can capture any subject with no limitations. The added value of the image stabiliser is the direct adjustment of the CCD image sensor. The effectiveness of this sort of image stabilisation system is such that it can make the difference between a successful picture and the digital rubbish bin. In addition to this, intelligent software like D-lighting, Pictmotion and the automatic red-eye correction makes it very user-friendly. The Nikon Coolpix S10 distinguishes itself in this area. The Nikon S10 is a compact Megazoom digital camera for amateur photographers that give them the chance to take creative photographs without immersing themselves in photographic techniques."
